The Psalms (specifically 147; 9) reminds us that our God not only provides for the human species but for all of creation.

"He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call."

Christ is recorded by Luke to say that God does not forget the 5 sparrows albeit them being sold for a meager 2 pennies.

Historically in my field, animals have been used for psychotherapeutic purposes. For example, in World War I working with animals (as well as gardening) empowered the “shell shocked” (A.K.A. PTSD) soldiers.

Currently, there is a subfield called Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy. In nutshell, it is a form of psychotherapy that traditionally helped kiddos that struggled with autism and Down Syndrome. Nowadays, its expanded to anxiety disorders and oppositional & defiance. You know😉, those little bad asses that are hurting on the inside and just don’t have the words to let it out.

Personally, I wanted to incorporate it to family therapy so I began training for this while I lived in New Hampshire. As a matter of fact, the pioneer who wrote the manual is from...TEXAS!!! 🌵🤠 How about them apples🍎🍏?!

The good Lord, however, had other plans for me. So I had to abandon that endeavor. 😬

But yes, animals are healers, man’s best friend, great comparisons!

DO YOU HAVE ANY PETS, SPIRIT?

I am still in great sorrow that my latest pet, a rooster, died in May 2018. “Moreno” was a pure-bred Rhode Island Red that often forgot we were buddies. 😕 And I have the scars on my legs to prove it. Nevertheless, "Moreno" was my buddy ‘til the end. He was my savior and that brought a laugh upon my manly face whenever the gardener came around. You see, Daniel (the gardener) talked too much and worked too little.🙄 So whenever Daniel was on chapter 43 of his latest adventure I would give the signal and “Moreno” would come to the rescue.😊

It was like watching Transformers or reading the Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Only Daniel transformed himself from a Mexican Machista to a little girl running all over the backyard away from “Moreno.”

Good times!😏
